Now normally I post my drawings without much commentary, but this one is a bit of a milestone for me, so I wanted to discuss a few things. For the longest time I’ve wished I could draw straight(ish), clean lines; my drawings always seemed “dirty” to me, my lines being too sketchy and all over the place. The second picture is the first time I’ve actually achieved what I wanted, and I guess it was as simple as drawing from the shoulder instead of the wrist? Hmp.
Another less important thing I discovered is how to paint in gray scale first and then in color in Sai. I don’t know if it made a huge difference, but I’ll definitely be trying it more to see how well it works.
